Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to shake the selenium sulfide shampoo before use?

No! DDC Selenium Sulfide Shampoo utilizes micron-suspension technology to overcome the limitations of ordinary selenium sulfide formulas:

No sedimentation - Remains uniformly stable even after prolonged storage, eliminating the need to "shake before use"

Consistent anti-dandruff efficacy - Each pump delivers the standardized active concentration for effective dandruff control

How to use selenium sulfide shampoo?

Step 1 Thoroughly wet hair with warm water

Step 2 Take an appropriate amount of shampoo, lather in palms, then apply foam to scalp

Step 3 Gently massage scalp with fingertips for 3-5 minutes to ensure full contact

Step 4 Rinse thoroughly with warm water until no foam remains

Recommended usage frequency?

3-4 times per week. This moderate frequency optimally maintains scalp oil-water balance and scalp health. However, as individual scalp conditions vary, the specific amount and frequency can be adjusted accordingly. (Initial use: 3-4 times weekly; after dandruff reduction: decrease to 1-2 times weekly)

Precautions when using selenium sulfide shampoo

Water temperature should not exceed ≈40°C to avoid scalp irritation

Recommended to use with hair mask or conditioner for smoother hair

Avoid 1:1 mixing with other shampoos as this reduces selenium sulfide concentration and compromises efficacy

Recommended two-step washing: first wash removes oil/dirt; second wash provides proper cleansing

Gently pat hair dry with towel to absorb excess water - avoid rough rubbing that damages scalp barrier and increases keratin shedding

Is it suitable for seborrheic dermatitis?

Yes. Seborrheic dermatitis typically manifests as scalp/facial redness, itching, and scaling, which is associated with Malassezia overgrowth. The selenium sulfide in DDC shampoo helps inhibit Malassezia activity, alleviating symptoms and improving scalp condition. However, as seborrheic dermatitis falls under dermatological conditions, severe cases should seek medical treatment promptly.
